This is an exciting opportunity to join Brookdale at the beginning of a new chapter for our school catering service. We want to create a kitchen team who are proud of the food they produce, enjoy working together and, most importantly, understand the difference that a nutritious, appealing and enjoyable school lunch can make to a child's day.

Specialist support from RPJ3. Our kitchen team is supported by our catering consultants, RPJ3, who work alongside the school to provide professional advice, guidance and training. Successful applicants will have access to ongoing specialist support and development.

Our General Catering Assistant will play an important part in the day-to-day running of the kitchen and lunchtime service.
Duties will include food preparation, setting up the dining and service areas, serving pupils, washing up and maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
We are looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable and friendly, enjoys being part of a team and will interact positively with our children during lunchtime.

are keen to learn and develop through the training and support available.
understand that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and are willing to undertake all required safeguarding training.

Why Brookdale?
At Brookdale, lunchtime is an important part of the school day. We want our children to look forward to their school meals and to experience a welcoming, positive and enjoyable lunchtime.
This recruitment gives us the opportunity to establish a completely new kitchen team, who can work together from the outset to develop a service they are proud of.
The team will not be doing this alone. Our specialist catering consultants, RPJ3, work in partnership with the school and will provide ongoing training, advice and professional support to help our new team establish and continually develop an excellent catering service.
We are particularly interested in applicants who share our ambition to provide a fresh, nutritious and child-focused catering service and who want to become a valued part of the Brookdale team.
If you are passionate about good food, enjoy working with people and would like the opportunity to help shape our new school kitchen team, we would love to hear from you.

Safeguarding
Brookdale Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Successful applicants will be subject to the school's safer recruitment procedures, including satisfactory references and appropriate pre-employment checks. An enhanced DBS check with children's barred list information will be required where applicable.
