What - Co-opted Governor
Where - West Kirby Primary School
When - Meetings are every half term, with two in Autumn One.

Make a real difference in children's lives by becoming a Co-opted Governor at our school, where we pride ourselves on being welcoming, kind, polite, and successful.

The role is a voluntary one and involves working strategically with school leaders to help shape the school's vision, set priorities, and support long-term improvement.

Meetings take place every half term, usually starting at 5pm or 6pm, with some reading required beforehand and a willingness to take an active role in discussions. It is estimated that attendance at meetings, reading before meetings, link governor meetings and other governance tasks may take approximately 8 hours per half term, at times this may be more and at times this may be less.

We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with
knowledge or experience in:
Property, estates or facilities management
Health & safety compliance or risk management
Construction, surveying or architecture

but if your background is different and you're keen to contribute, we'd love to hear from you too.

Full Induction, support and training will be provided.

Further questions or enquiries are very welcome. To find out more about the role, please contact our Chair of Governors, who will be happy to discuss this opportunity in more detail.

If you are interested, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact our Chair of  Governors, Louise Wood, at chair@westkirbyprimary.wirral.sch.uk for an informal conversation or to submit an expression of interest (no more than 500 words about your background and motivation).

This post is subject to an Enhanced Level DBS check and an Online Search.

West Kirby Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants will be considered on the basis of suitability for the post regardless of sex, race or disability.
