Caretaker (Part Time, Mornings)

Part time 20.00 hours per week – 39 weeks per year

Fender Primary and Ganneys Meadow are seeking to appoint a part time caretaker to work across these popular, inclusive, thriving schools, which are well regarded by the local community and located on the Woodchurch Estate.

The two schools share a site with both joint and independent facilities and as our Caretaker, your role will be split evenly between the two. Your duties (including security, routine repair work, maintenance, compliance and some cleaning) will be shared with our full time Site Manager. This role is a permanent part time contract from September 2025 following the retirement of our current morning caretaker. The hours of work will be 6am to 10am, Monday to Friday, term time only.

The ideal candidate will:

• Demonstrate a commitment to working with the Site Manager to ensure our schools are always the best they can be.
• Be hardworking and flexible with a can-do attitude
• Have the capacity to problem solve in a calm and professional manner and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Be able to identify and prioritise tasks
• Have a good standard of DIY skills in joinery, plumbing, painting and general maintenance
• Have an awareness of health and safety requirements
• Be a team player and have good communication and interpersonal skills
• Understand the importance of confidentiality and following safeguarding and other policies
