Kilgarth School is currently looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner to undertake the role of Pastoral Support Worker. Kilgarth is a maintained community special school for boys aged 11-16 with additional Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). We were inspected by Ofsted (2019) and judged outstanding in all areas; following our previous outstanding inspection in 2015 the Ofsted report noted that; there is extremely high morale within an exceptional atmosphere that nurtures pupils; learning and improves their behaviour. Our success is directly linked to the compassionate, collaborative and relationship driven ethos that benefits children and fosters progress across the curriculum. The school has strong links with a number of local charities and organisations and is federated with Gilbrook School, the local outstanding SEMH primary school.

 

The successful applicant will have a thorough knowledge of current safeguarding practice and join our outstanding school team to deliver front-line support to our pupils and parents. Experience of working with children who often display challenging behaviour is essential. Applicants need to be able to demonstrate emotional intelligence and resilience and should be prepared to become an integral member of our committed, hardworking staff team.
